Growing up in Williamstown, Karinne picked up squash on the Williams College courts and then played four years of varsity squash at Bowdoin College, captaining the team and finishing 9th in the National Intercollegiates her senior year. She also played varsity field hockey for the polar bears. After graduating from college, Karinne coached field hockey and squash at St. Andrew’s School before earning her M.A.L.S. degree from Dartmouth College and joining the faculty at Deerfield, where she began the girls’ varsity programs in both field hockey and squash twenty-five years ago. Both teams have won New England Championships with her as head coach. In the new millennium, the varsity squash team has become a perennial contender for both the New England and High School Team National Championships.
