The Big Green hit the road yet again for a Monday night make-up contest against Kingswood-Oxford. After a long delay (the game started more than an hour late), we were a little slow out of the gates in the first period, and were unable to solve the talented K-O goalie. The second and third periods were much different stories, however, as we took control of the pace of the game and spent the majority of time in the offensive end. The line of Kayla O’Connor ’14, Katherine Jackson ’15, and Meghan Halloran ’17 was absolutely flying, and it was Halloran who got her team on the board first by roofing the puck from in close. Emma Siefert ’16, Rachel Sit ’16, and Elliot Gilbert ’16 also produced some nice chances in the second period. Jackson (who had an unbelievable game) got Deerfield’s second goal off of a nice backhand shot (O’Connor got the assist), while Taylor Morash ’16 rounded out the scoring in the empty net after Lucy Lytle ’15 (who earned the assist) hit the post. The final shots were 41-12 in favor of the visitors, and we were pleased with our solid all-around team effort. Many thanks to all of the families for coming out to support the team, and we are especially grateful to the Hallorans for the pizza and drinks and the Nottebohms for the desserts. It was a long night for the team, but we look forward to a home game Wednesday night against NEWHL.
