Yet another beautiful day to play, again at a fine host school, Pomfret, up in the quiet corner … We arrived, warmed up and played in front of appreciative parents and left a couple of hours later, 4-0 victors over gallant opponents, always well coached and enthusiastic to play. The DA girls found a number of challenges today which will help us become a stronger team over time. A smallish field, and a bumpy one as compared to our carpet, presented an excellent opportunity to learn new skills, and while we won, we may not have proved that we manage that situation too well. In any case, two first half goals and two late goals in the game were the markers; we seemed to organize ourselves better in the second half and that indicates that we were gaining ground adapting to the setting. Kudos to our seniors for all the great work they did attacking and defending even with a variety of frustrations: we learn every day, and those leaders model that. We will try to get better every day.
