Deerfield Boys Varsity Soccer visited Worcester Academy today and lost 5-1 to a talented and well-organized opponent. From the beginning the still-developing Big Green were too easily attacked by the more assertive and determined Worcester boys. Andrew Shediac continued to play very well in goal and made a number of terrific stops for Deerfield, yet the sideline restarts, both throws and corners, got Worcester on the board for four of their five goals today. In addition to Andrew, Jackson Dayton once more had a strong game at the front for Deerfield, creating a number of good chances that finally produced a goal later in the game from a fine Brendan O’Connell finish. In the midfield Stephen Baisch was our best presence, quick and aggressive to fine effect all day. The boys in green will get back to work to get better for Taft on Wednesday, but a tip of the hat is in order to a good and classy Worcester team.
