The Deerfield Squad set off to play Avon Old Farms. It was a hot day and Deerfield came ready to play, generating most of the offense in the first half and shutting down the Avon strikers every time they came close. At halftme the game was still scoreless. The second half became very physical and our defense was put on their heels by the constant free kicks around our box. Ben Bolotin ’12 played very well and controlled the penalty area. In the middle of the second half Deerfield finally got the goal they had been waiting for. On a counter-attack, Adam Ellison ’13 brought the ball down the field and shot back post looking for a rebound and luckily Jackson Dayton ’13 was there to put it away. Adam then proceeded to ‘cele’ too hard, resulting in an injured thumb. This was a great win for Deerfield as they hope to continue their two game win streak.
