Playing in their final home game of the season, Deerfield fell to a playoff-bound Williston squad 3-0. Despite limiting the visitors to just 17 shots, Williston scored once in each period, while the Big Green continued to struggle to find the back of the net. Williston opened the scoring when a harmless looking shot eluded Hannah Insuik ’13, doubled their lead off of a giveaway at the blue line, and converted the final goal on a power play opportunity. Katherine Jackson ’15 and Lucy Lytle ’15 played especially well for Deerfield, while the whole team should be proud of their effort and intensity this afternoon. This team continues to play with a ton of heart, and their coaches are incredibly proud of the progress they have made. We will take the ice one last time as a team at Loomis on Saturday afternoon. Many thanks to the Lytles for the pizza, fruit, salad and gatorade after the game.
