Playing with only 12 skaters, the Big Green took on an energized Pomfret squad this afternoon at home. Though we worked hard, and played with good energy, we struggled to execute our breakout and connect with passes in the neutral and offensive zone. After Pomfret took the lead late in the second period we began to generate more opportunities, but could not solve the Pomfret goalkeeper. Katherine Jackson ’15 had the best chance of the game as she broke in alone after taking a beautiful pass from Lucy Lytle ’15, but the Pomfret goalie slid across to make the save. Hannah Insuik ’13 had a great game in goal for the Big Green, stopping 28 shots. We will be hungry for a win against Andover on Saturday evening. Many thanks to the Jacksons for the chili, cornbread, cookies, and chocolate covered strawberries after the game!
