Varsity Field Hockey (Girls) vs. NMH at NMH

The Deerfield squad took the short trip north to the Mount Herman campus of NMH on a crisp, breezy October afternoon.  The DA girls came off of the bus ready to play and controlled much of the play during the first half.  Haddad scored off of a nice deflection on a corner and Growney fed Lytle for a beautiful goal to make it 2-0 Deerfield at the half.  After the halftime break it was clear that the NMH girls found their game and the match was evenly matched from the whistle.  The Hoggers were able to punch in a nice goal and the intensity of the match increased dramatically.  A Deerfield goal was called back on a corner play as the ball never left the circle and a few minutes later, NMH faced the same call as they converted on a corner but the goal was disqualified for the same infraction.  The game ended in a frenetic flurry of shots on both ends but the DA girls emerged with the victory.  Next up for Deerfield is a home match against Kent this coming Saturday…..Go Green!
