Fans and players alike enjoyed an afternoon of sunshine and field hockey down on the Rowland turf as the DA squad faced off against Kent. Â The Deerfield girls bounced back after a rocky Wednesday match with a superb first half! Â Ball movement was crisp and intentional and DA controlled play for much of the first 30 minutes. Â Molly Murphy ’15 finished a nice cross to open scoring for Team Green and she was quickly followed by Abby Ingrassia ’13 who put in two more goals before the horn concluded the first half with the score 3-0 in Deerfield’s favor. Â The second half saw a variety of DA girls coming off the bench to get valuable game experience and many of the younger girls stepped up and continued to control much of the play. Â While no more goals were tallied, the DA squad walked away feeling positive about their play and satisfied with the progress they’re seeing as the season progresses. Â Next up for the Team Green is an away fixture against the Wildcats of KUA.
