Varsity Field Hockey vs. Ethel Walker

The Deerfield squad entered today’s home match at 1-1-1 after an early season stretch of long road trips to the south.  The team had faced a variety of challenges on the road and hoped to pull it together for the home crowd.  From the outset, it was clear that both teams had the ability to control play and action moved evenly across the midfield.  After several scoring opportunities, the DA girls found an opening and Caroline Ashford put the first goal on the board with 3:48 remaining in the first half.  Following the intermission, the girls came out firing and Jamie Haddad was able to put away a goal early in the period followed by a penalty stroke goal and then yet another goal with 14 minutes remaining on the clock.  It was clear that the Green had taken control of the match and the offense fed Haddad with ripe opportunities and she delivered, congrats on the “hat-trick” Jamie!  The last goal came from Abby Ingrassia and sealed the day for Deerfield.  Next up for Deerfield is a home match against Exeter at home at 4:15pm.
