They’ve done it! The Deerfield Girls Cross Country team finished undefeated in regular season running for the first time in school history! Bravo ladies! The’ve run with a bullseye on their backs since winning the Canterbury Invitational for the second year in a row, but have managed to finish on top every week, week in and week out. Lead by Alanna McDonough who won the race in 20:25, the girls defeated a strong NMH squad under a picture perfect blue sky and on a day that none shall forget. Following Alanna were Lilah Lutes (3rd), Jinane Gedeon Achi (4th), Olivia Mehm (6th), Carlie Enzerra (7th), Rose Fisher (8th), and Kylie Davis (9th). The JV were lead by freshman Nahla Gedeon Achi, and also included Camille Larmoyeaux, Brenna Schoer-Lundeen, Caitlin Cleary, Megan Foster, Wahi Diome and Maggie Morse. Please congratulate the girls for this momentous achievement when you get a chance. The Big Green next take on all 15 Division I New England prep schools at Phillips Andover for the championship. No matter the outcome next week though, these ladies have proven their mettle and have won their place in Deerfield history.
