Deerfield lost to a fast, talented, and strong Nichols team in the final game of the Deerfield Invitational. Nichols went up 2-0 after two periods of play, but the Big Green responded with a fantastic final fifteen minutes. They got within one goal with five minutes left to play after Jamie Haddad ’12 banged home a loose puck, but Nichols put the game away on a tremendous individual effort. Sammy Hirshland ’13 played well in defeat. The girls will now enjoy a well-deserved break, but will come back ready to battle in 2012! Special thanks to Susie, Norm, and to all of the parents who made this tournament a smashing success!
