LC – 73rd Minute – Corner Kick
On November 7th, Deerfield’s mens varsity soccer team traveled to Loomis Chaffee. The game was hard fought and our boys played extremely well. Ben Bolotin (2012), in particular, played one of the best matches of his career. Even though he was only credited with three saves, he kept DA within striking distance the entire game. Early on, Ben made an incredibly acrobatic play off of a header to prevent a goal. Also the back four played very well, dealing with speedy strikers who made runs down the field for the entire game. Jordan Jancze and Stevie Baisch played with a lot of heart. Jancze continually interrupted Loomis’ back line. Meanwhile, Stevie was wreaking havoc everywhere he went until he had to be taking out of the game. Stevie went up for a header but missed and ended up colliding with the opponent. He is fine. Another scary moment for DA was when Colten McCormick went to the ground late in the game. A Loomis striker landed on his back. Sadly, DA lost the game. The only goal given up to Loomis was on a corner kick. Again, Ben made a great play but Loomis put the rebound in. The goal happened in the 73rd minute of play. DA tried to come back but to no avail. Led by Jackson Dayton and Xavier (ZZ) Salvador, Deerfield persisted with a very strong counter attack but DA could not put one in the net. On Wednesday, DA plays NMH and then on Saturday DA plays their main rival, Choate.  Â
