Soccer, Girls: Junior Varsity loses to Westminster

The sunny weather heralded our first match of the season against Westminster. Though Deerfield came out a little flat, a cross from Caroline Hoff ’22 to Kiki Brainard ’22 resulted in a beautiful goal over the keeper’s head, putting Deerfield in the lead. Westy responded with two goals of their own, sneaking past our defenders, to put them up 2-1 at half time. Though the Doors were down, there were some great moments, Kat Hioe

Lacrosse, Girls: Varsity defeats Berkshire School

The headline is a 18-13 win on the road against Berkshire, taking us to 11-2 on the season.  But the story of the game is an interesting one. Berkshire came out gunning for us and were lifted by the excitement of their Senior Day.  But the Big Green came to play as well, and the warm sunshine lifted everyone’s spirits.  DA won the first two draws, with Mimi Pastor controlling the ball on the circle

Lacrosse, Girls: Varsity defeats Kimball Union Academy

With a potent offense and a tenacious defense, the DA girls varsity lacrosse team has established itself this season as the “Greatest Show of Turf.”  That moniker was put to the test yesterday at Kimball Union Academy, however, as a scheduling conflict had us playing on a muddy grass field.  But in the end this change of venue proved to be inconsequential, as the Big Green rolled to a 14-5 victory and a 9-2 record

On Monday, February 4th Guay was one of four officials for the men’s Beanpot game between Boston College and Harvard at TD Garden. It was the first game in the 67-year history of the Boston city championship tournament that a female was on the ice officiating. Guay

Girls Varsity Squash Returns to Home Courts to Defeat Westminster

In their first home match of 2019, the Big Green girls varsity squash team took on the Martlets of Westminster.  Missing six starters, DA recruited a couple JV players, Daly Baker and Talbot von Stade, to play #6 and #7, and both showed they have varsity talent and grit.  Daly showed great focus as she beat her opponent 3-0, and while Talbot needed a game to adjust to the new level, she caught on quickly
