Retirement Plan – The Academy’s retirement plan is a defined contribution, non-contributory plan through TIAA-CREF individual retirement annuities. After two years of service the Academy contributes 9.5% of salary up to 75% of the Social Security High Bend Point (in 2012 this index is $55,488), and 13.8% of the portion of salary which exceeds this index. A tax-deferred annuity plan is available for employee elective deferrals.
Health and Dental Insurance Plans -Â HMO Blue New England $1000 Deductible Option with an associated Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA), and Dental Blue are offered. Deerfield’s generous contribution results in small employee premiums and reasonable co-payments.
Life and Total Disability Insurance Plans – Life and Total Disability Insurances are offered at no cost to employees.
Flexible Compensation Plan (Section 125) – Employees may pay for uninsured expenses for medical, dental, and child care with pre-tax dollars.
Paid Time Off – Leave for professional development (sabbatical), holidays, vacation, sick, personal, funeral, maternity, and military leave time are all generously offered according to employee classification and federal and statutory laws.
Tuition Remission – Full-time staff and contractual employees are eligible for 90% tuition remission for their IRS dependents of high school age that can pass the admission requirements of Deerfield Academy. Fees are the responsibility of the employee.
Tuition Reimbursement – The Academy will reimburse employees for the cost of job-related training and/or courses within certain guidelines.
Employee Assistance Plan -Â The Employee Assistance Plan provides short-term crisis intervention at no cost to employees and their family members.
Day Care Center – An on-site day care center is provided at a reasonable fee for children aged 18 months to 5 years.
Retirement and Financial Counseling – Professional certified financial planners and retirement counselors are made available for employee counseling.
Discounted Purchase Programs -Â Academy employees enjoy many discount purchase programs including significant discounts for athletic equipment, books, computers, and food.
Use of Facilities – The Health Center, library, athletic complex, and other facilities are made available to employees for care, recreation and enrichment.
