The Children’s School at Deerfield Academy is seeking a Part-time Teacher. The children at the Center are of a mixed age group ranging from 15 months to 5 years of age. This is a 22.5 hours/week (12:30-4:45PM) during the academic year and two 40 hour weeks during the summer.
Responsibilities will include developing and implementing age appropriate curriculum for toddler/preschool group, preparing lessons and materials for the classroom, monitoring children’s progress and behavior, attending early childhood conferences or classes, attending first aid training and CPR certification training as needed, and supervising and assisting with training of volunteers and student interns.
Qualifications should include a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, EEC licensing certification for Lead Teacher preferred, experience teaching in the field of early childhood with toddler and preschool age children, knowledge of early childhood development, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to establish rapport with parents, colleagues and children, the ability to work effectively within a teaching team and the ability to lift 30+ lbs. Successful candidates will be energetic, patient, and love being with children.
