Job Posting: Senior Applications Developer/Analyst

Reporting to the Associate Director of Information Technology Services, the Senior Applications Developer / Analyst is responsible for the development and implementation of web and client-based applications, databases, and services; ongoing support of these applications and functional users;  and integration between new and existing systems.

The primary responsibilities of this position include working independently and/or with other ITS staff to design, code, analyze, and implement applications and interfaces that support, enhance, and integrate with the Academy’s ERP system, Banner, in order to maximize the effectiveness of the Academy’s business operations; managing small and medium-scale projects with limited supervision and in accordance with industry best practices; and working with systems and database administrators to manage and maintain the Academy’s technology resources in order to deliver a secure, robust, and reliable infrastructure.

The successful candidate will possess: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience with application development; or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience and proficiency with various programming languages/tools such as Oracle PL/SQL, Java, Java Script, Java/Web Application Servers, Groovy/Grails, UNIX shell scripts, and other IDEs; knowledge of software development best-practices; the ability to be self-directed, resourceful and creative; excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.  Experience with Banner and other Ellucian products is desirable.
