Parents Fall Weekend 2014

Quick Tips

Parking: On Friday morning, please park your vehicle FIRST near your student’s dorm or as directed by Campus Security, THEN proceed to Registration. Do not stop in front of the Main School/Academy Building.

Cell Phones: Deerfield is a “cell phone free” campus. Cell phone use is prohibited in classrooms, walking across campus or in the Dining Hall. To find out where you can use cell phones on campus, please review our Acceptable Use Guidelines here.

Drinking Water: Please bring a reusable water bottle to campus, as we do not sell/supply bottled water this weekend. We have hydration stations around campus.

Athletics: The Dean of Students office sent an email on June 18, notifying families that MOST athletic contests will be AWAY during Parents Weekend. See the Sat. Oct. 18 schedule here. We hope this aids in your weekend planning and registration.

Pick-a-Time: Our Fall weekend provides a special opportunity for parents to schedule an individual five-minute “meet-and-greet” with your child(ren)’s subject teachers and advisor on Friday 10/17 between 1:30 – 3:30 pm and on Saturday 10/18 between 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. These sessions are intended to be a meet-and-greet only, not an in-depth conference.  The meet-and-greets will be scheduled using an online scheduler called Pick-A-Time. The program will go live on Monday, October 6th at 10:00 am EDT. You will NOT be able to log into Pick-A-Time before it opens on October 6th. Detailed instructions on how to log in and use Pick-A-Time will be sent from the Office of the Academic Dean before the program goes live. If you have any questions, please contact Laura Harcourt, Assistant to the Academic Dean at  If you plan to be on campus for Friday and Saturday, please consider scheduling the meet-and-greets over both days. We suggest no more than three meetings on Friday. This will help provide equal access for all families and allow sufficient time to travel across campus between meetings on Friday afternoon.

Remember: Monday, October 20 is a day off from classes to give some families a chance to go off campus and spend time together. In order to take your child(ren) off campus following their last obligation on Saturday, this parent permission form will need to be filled out. Your child(ren) must also complete an overnight permission request. These online forms will be available on this site after the school year begins.

Registrations: On-line registration is now closed.  If you have not previously registered, please contact us  at 413-774-1483 or
