Introducing The Link: News for Deerfield Parents

By Katy Flato, P’10, P’12; San Antonio, TX
Welcome to the first issue of The Link, a newsletter by parents for parents. The Link will be published online three times a year (late summer, late fall and late winter). Our goal is to share information and to invite informed involvement in the life of the Deerfield community.

In this issue, you will hear the steadfast voices of parents who are trying to build a stronger community through communication. They offer everything from practical advice for move-in day, to insight on your student’s advisor and the just-launched Connect4 residential program, to thoughtful suggestions on how to be helpful to new parents and overseas students. You will learn about a new blog site just for parents and tips for navigating Deerfield’s web pages. Armed with this information, our hope is that all parents will feel more closely linked together.

We cannot do this without your help. We encourage you to contribute: your story ideas, writing and editing skills; commentary on articles and events. Send in your photographs and your experiences as a Deerfield parent. However you want to be involved, we will welcome and appreciate your participation.

Please enjoy and be in touch.
