For over 20 years Ada taught English at Andover, where she ran dorms, coached, led outdoor groups, and worked with its museums. Her undergraduate concentration at Harvard-Radcliffe was Folklore & Mythology; and she has a master's in film from Boston University and a master's and PhD in English literature from the University of Rochester. Before becoming a boarding school teacher she wrote for a newspaper. She lives on Main Street with her husband, Academic Dean Peter Warsaw, and helps out with the Scroll and Poc III. Sometimes the Warsaw-Fan daughters, violinist Arianna and cellist Marina, visit. The household dog, Hogan, is a bit crazy but quite sweet.
