A native speaker of Arabic, Samar Moushabeck came to Deerfield with a BA in Art and Graphic Design from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She assisted in teaching Arabic at Mount Holyoke College and Smith College before coming to the Academy in 2006.

Samar also helps run her family business, an independent bookstore in Northampton. She now teaches Arabic at Deerfield and lives in Amherst with her husband and two sons.
