Peter has extensive experience in independent secondary schooling and a profound dedication to the mission of boarding schools. He was at Phillips Academy-Andover for twenty years as an instructor of music, Chair of the Music Department, a founder and director of Andover's Summer Institute of Music, and a member of their Strategic Planning Task Force. Peter is the 2006 recipient of the Donna Brace Ogilvie Teaching Foundation Award. He holds an AB, a master's in music, and a doctorate in musical arts.
