Interim Dean of Spiritual and Ethical Life

As Deerfield’s interim Dean of Spiritual and Ethical Life, Chad will teach in the Philosophy and Religion Department while Jan Flaska takes a one-year leave.  Chad is a seasoned guide in helping young people wrestle with spiritual and moral questions. An ordained minister with the Disciples of Christ, Chad is extensively involved in ecumenical and interfaith work, and sits on the board of directors of the Massachusetts Council of Churches. He earned his B.A. in American History from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee in 1998, his M.A. in European History from Boston College in 2005, and his Master of Divinity from Boston University School of Theology in 2008.  A guest blogger and consultant for Facing History and Ourselves, Chad is also the Principal and Founder of The Trivium Collaborative, a consulting venture through which he leads “Living the Art of Life” seminars for various educational, business, civic, and faith communities.
