After graduating summa cum laude with a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Tennessee in 2005, Mary flew across the Atlantic to study at Cambridge University, where she worked as a Laboratory and Lecture Teaching Assistant and earned her Ph.D. in 2011. Mary’s Cambridge professors laud her “experimental finesse,” “analytical insight,” as well as her skill at teaching “material enthusiastically.” For the past two years, Mary has taught Chemistry at The Upper School in Wichita, Kansas. Interested in helping with extra-curricular activities like Model United Nations, debate and academic teams, Mary has a lot of expertise to share with Deerfield students and her new colleagues.
