Jeff, Deerfield’s Sustainability Coordinator, also teaches in the Science Department. Before coming to Deerfield, Jeff taught biology and advised the Hiking Club at the American College of Sofia in Bulgaria. An experienced outdoorsman and trip leader, Jeff earned his MS in Land Resources and Environmental Sciences from Montana State University in 2009. After receiving his BA in Molecular and Cell Biology from Northwestern University, where he was also a drummer with the university’s marching band, Jeff taught science and coached cross country and track for five years at the Westridge School for Girls in Pasadena. Co-author of “Spatiotemporal Relationships between Climate and Whitebark Pine Mortality in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem,” soon to be published in Forest Science, Jeff is genuinely interested in environmental issues.
