James “Huck” Laughner teaches in the Science Department.  Huck holds a BS in Ceramic Science and Engineering (1975), a PhD in Solid State Science (1982), and a MEd in Curriculum and Instruction (1996). He worked at Brockway and Corning Glass companies and taught engineering at the New York State College of Ceramics.  Since moving to education, he has taught chemistry, physics, and mathematics.  He also taught science education at the college level. He published peer-reviewed articles in all of these fields and won many teaching awards including the Presidential Scholars’ Teacher’s Award, which included a trip to the Rose Garden.
