After serving as an assistant for three years, Gregg took over the girls hockey program in 2004. In his first season, he led the team to a 12-8-2 record.

Arriving at Deerfield in the fall of 2001, Gregg brought with him more than a decade of prep school coaching experience. He spent six years coaching Division I boys hockey; first as an assistant at the New Hampton School in New Hampshire and then at Northfield Mount Hermon. He also spent three years behind the bench as coach of the girls varsity hockey team at the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey.

Gregg attended the University of Vermont, where he played hockey and earned a BS in mathematics. At Deerfield he teaches math and serves as a dorm resident in John Williams House. In the fall he coaches boys junior A soccer.
