The Deerfield Academy theater production of All My Sons opens on Tuesday, May 21 and runs through Saturday, May 25. Written by Arthur Miller and directed by Catriona Hynds, this riveting drama explores the relationships between fathers and sons and the price of living the American Dream in post-WWII America.

All performances are in the Black Box Theater, Tues, May 21-Fri, May 24 at 7 pm, and Sat, May 25 at 4 pm. Reserve your tickets today! And don’t forget–we now offer e-ticketing!

NOTICE POSTED SATURDAY 10/27 AT 12:30PM. PLEASE CONSULT THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FOR THE MOST UP-TO-DATE FORECAST.

Hurricane Sandy has raised concerns about the health, safety and preparedness of East Coast residents. Deerfield staff and faculty have been watching the storm closely and preparing to deal with its effects.

The current forecast spares our area from the brunt of the storm. Predictions are for 1 to 3 inches of rain and moderate, 20-30mph winds, which is not an uncommon occurrence here.

In the event of a stronger storm, however, dormitories and most other buildings on campus are equipped with backup generators, the Dining Hall is well stocked, and campus is prepared to shelter its residents from damaging winds.

Fall Play

The fall play, The Laramie Project, opens on Tuesday, October 30, and tickets are now available to order online. Created by Moisés Kaufman and the members of the Tectonic Theater Project, The Laramie Project is an internationally successful play; it focuses on a horrific crime that occurred in the city of Laramie, Wyoming, and is based on over 400 interviews. Thought-provoking and deeply moving, The Laramie Project is a play that challenges the audience to ask questions about the society we live in.

The Laramie Project will run from Tuesday, October 20 through Saturday, November 3. All performances are in the Reid Black Box Theater at 7:00 pm. Please make sure your ticket choices are final before requesting tickets; if you need to change your order, contact Theater Director Catriona Hynds at chynds@deerfield.edu or 413-774-1556.
