Deerfield competes in Western New England Division I, one of the strongest leagues in the country. In the spring of 2012, we will aim for our 19th consecutive winning season, which has featured a 75-3 record since 2007, three undefeated seasons, and at least a share of eight league championships.
We begin each season with a preseason trip to Florida during the March vacation, where the team's identity is forged and we benefit from scrimmages with quality opponents.
Many Deerfield players go on to succeed in the NCAA. In 2012, Deerfield graduates will be playing on six Ivy League teams, three ACC teams seven NESCAC schools and in the Patriot League. Deerfield has produced numerous college captains and All-Americans in Division I & III.

From the first practice 'under the lights' in March to the final whistle in May, Deerfield teams play with passion, sportsmanship and strive to honor the the game. This experience produces lasting friendships.
Varsity Lacrosse is coached by Chip Davis and Jan Flaska.

In the 19 years that Chip Davis has served as head coach of the boys lacrosse team at Deerfield, the program has developed into one of the most successful programs in New England.
The team has finished atop Western New England Boys Lacrosse Division I in seven of the past eight years, winning that title outright in 2002 and 2007 with undefeated seasons, and sharing the title in five of the other seven years. After the 2004 season, Chip was named Western NE Coach of the Year.
At Bowdoin College, Chip earned All-New England honors in lacrosse, was a four-year starter for the football team, and served as captain of both teams in his senior year. He serves as an assistant coach with the football team's defensive unit in the fall. Chip is also the Director of Athletics and a member of the Academy’s History Department. He lives in Whiting House with his wife Beth and their three sons, Bradley, Brian, and Zachary.
