Golf (Girls)

Since about 1970 Deerfield has had a very successful record in golf. We have traditionally fielded two teams in the spring, varsity and junior varsity. Each team consists of six students and matches normally follow a stroke play format with the best five scores counting out of six. While most of the present members of the program are boys we encourage girls to become involved as well. Our schedule is a challenging one with matches against schools such as Hotchkiss and Taft and college teams such as the Williams College J.V. The varsity team plays in two major tournaments each year, with 20 or more schools competing in each.

Deerfield golfers practice on the Crumpin-Fox golf course, a relatively new layout designed by Robert Trent Jones and ranked in the top 100 new courses in the U.S.A. by Golf Digest magazine. For more information contact coach Nicholas Albertson at nalbertson@deerfield.edu.
