Deerfield Girls Repeat Title Run in 2013!
The Deerfield girls cross country squad entered the 2013 season with a history of success and a plan to defend their 2012 New England Prep School Cross Country Championship. In the previous six years the girls placed 9th, 8th, 6th, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st, and had concrete plans to retake that top position for 2013. They did just that on Saturday at the St. Paul's School in Concord, NH, edging the host team by a mere five points. Heading the girls' squad were captains Devinne Cullinane '14 and Lilah Lutes '14. Along with their standout captains were Phoebe Morss '15 (another All-New England runner in 2012 & 2013), Caroline Wagner '14, Samantha Morse '15, Lauren Ilsley '16, Margo Downes '16, and Claire Petrus '16. There is a great host of talent with which the girls must contend in order to threepeat next year, but you can be sure they will try their best, and then some. To the entire Big Green family, coaches Cullinane, Karbon and Zranchev say thank you!
Go Big Green! Hurrah!
