Deerfield Believes

…that experiences on the playing field, in the dance studio, or on the stage promote discipline and self-awareness, facilitate new friendships, and enrich the lives of those who participate. 

 

Every Student

…is required to be involved in a co-curricular activity each term. Normally, freshmen and sophomores are required to participate in interscholastic sports for two seasons each year.

Students with strong interest in the performing arts (dance, music, theater) may petition for an exemption to this requirement. Advisors will review their advisees’ schedules to ensure that every student has a co-curricular commitment each term.
