Recognition Societies

Deerfield recognizes individuals who have made significant donations to annual support and in support of capital projects and endowment. Contributions to any one of the societies listed below will receive special recognition in the Academy’s Annual Report.

Young Alumni
Leadership Gift Levels (years since graduation)

The Green and White (1-4) $1-$249
Deerfield’s colors symbolize the society recognizing gifts of at least $1 for alumni in the college classes and those pre-15th reunion alumni who have given $100-$249.

Ashley Society (1-14) $250-$999
Named in honor of Thomas Ashley (Class of 1911) whose faith in Deerfield and unswerving idealism shaped the School. The Ashley Society honors contributions of $250 or more from our youngest alumni (pre-15th reunion).

Pocumtuck Associates (1-19) $1,000-$1,796
The Pocumtuck Valley of Deerfield is named after the tribe of Native Americans who were its original inhabitants. Annual Support donors of $1000 or more are recognized through membership in this society.

  • Founders Associates (all) $10,000-$24,999
  • Heritage Society (all) $25,000-$49,999
  • Headmasters Associates (all) $50,000-$99,999*
  • Presidents Circle (all) $100,000 and above*

Pocumtuck Associates $1,000 – $3,499
The Pocumtuck Valley of Deerfield is named after the tribe of Native Americans who were its original inhabitants. Annual Support donors of $1000 or more are recognized through membership in this society.

The 1797 Society
Named in honor of the year in which Deerfield Academy was founded, the Society has five levels (Members, Founders Associates, Heritage Society, Headmasters Associates, and President’s Circle) which recognize leadership gifts to the Annual Fund.

  • Member $3,500-$9,999
  • Founders Associates $10,000-$24,999
  • Heritage Society $25,000-$49,999
  • Headmasters Associates $50,000-$99,999*
  • Presidents Circle $100,000 and above*

*Includes total giving to Annual Giving, capital projects and/or endowment.
