Annual
Giving

Thanks to the support of this amazing community, we’ve set an incredible new Day of Giving all-time record. Thank you to the 1,300+ alumni, parents, grandparents, friends, employees, and students who participated. Whether you made a gift; offered a challenge or a dollar-for-dollar match; or spread the word to your classmates, family, and friends, we appreciate your support, and so does the entire Deerfield community.

Annual Fund

Deerfield strives to offer its students programs, experiences, and a curriculum that is unparalleled – and this is an important investment. We look to our alumni, parents, and friends to help offset the costs associated with the high-quality education that Deerfield provides. Competitive faculty salaries, exceptional arts and athletics resources and a substantial financial aid program are made possible thanks to your Annual Fund support year after year.

Financial flexibility has always been a key to Deerfield’s strength. We are dependent on reliable and flexible funding, which unrestricted giving provides.

Provide textbooks, lab materials, and technology, allowing Deerfield students to thrive in the classroom.

Give students the opportunity to gain confidence and develop as artists. From architecture and studio art classes, to dance, film & video, music, photography, and theater, the arts create invaluable opportunities and draw the community together.

Our interscholastic and recreational programs offer students the opportunity to further develop leadership and instill important life skills of discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and humility. GO BIG GREEN!

Support the initiatives of Deerfield’s Action Plan, such as faculty recruitment, student alliances, alumni engagement, curriculum development, and on-campus programming.

Help Deerfield educate our community–both inside and outside of the classroom– on the local and global impact of personal and institutional choices. From the food we serve, to the care of our athletic fields, to how we heat our buildings in the winter, our decisions matter.

Create a range of opportunities for faculty to collaborate, engage in curricular innovation, and renew their teaching methods—on campus and around the world.

Financial assistance is the primary means we have to ensure we enroll the very best students.  Supporting 37% of the student body, Deerfield’s need-based financial aid program assists those who require both full-need and middle-income grants. Supplemental Aid covers a range of critical needs including winter coats and boots, bookstore allowances, eyeglasses, music lessons, and other essential areas.

Help Deerfield meet its goal of promoting a broader and more intentional approach to health, one that addresses areas of stress, nutrition, self-care, confidence and community. The new D.S. Chen Health and Wellness Center provides Deerfield students with comprehensive health care and counseling services.

Support a central feature of the Deerfield Experience—student life—by strengthening friendships, community spirit, and traditions like Choate Day, sit-down meals, dorm feeds, clubs, and School Meeting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Upon graduating from Deerfield, alumni enter a diverse network of former Deerfield students. Deerfield alumni have ventured into almost every area of employment, and many are at the top of their respective fields. The advantages of this vast network are numerous and significant, as every member of the Deerfield family receives the following:

Alumni are also eligible for alumni awards, such as the Ashley Award, Heritage Award, and the Mimi Morsman Award.

There are no membership fees or dues for members of the Deerfield family, but Deerfield does ask for assistance in a few areas. First of all, in order for Deerfield to have the most up-to-date records possible, we encourage members to keep us apprised of their current contact info. Alumni are also urged to direct all concerns and suggestions regarding Deerfield’s operations through the Executive Committee, the governing body of the Alumni Association. The committee acts as the voice of the alumni body, and works closely with the school administration. In order to keep tuition affordable and the quality of a Deerfield education at its highest, the Academy depends upon the continuing support of alumni and their families. This support can take the form of annual or capital gifts, or time spent volunteering on behalf of Deerfield.

There are Deerfield Clubs in many major American cities. Please visit here for more information on specific clubs and their sponsored events.

Of course! Be sure to read the latest issue of From Albany Road in your email’s in-box for current news of what is happening on campus. As we also send out periodic invitations, it’s always best to make sure we have your current physical address. And if you do plan on visiting campus, why not tell us ahead of time?
