Global Studies, Service, and Sustainability Summer Grants

Deerfield Academy wants to help you help make the world a better place! We encourage all Deerfield students who will be returning to campus in Fall 2014 to apply for funding from the 2014 Global Studies, Service, and Sustainability summer grants.

With support from the Earle/Mendillo Family Service Fund, these grants will be provided to support summer programs and projects related to global studies, service and sustainability.  Understanding that many of the world’s most pressing challenges lie at the intersection of globalism, service, and sustainability, special consideration will be given to proposals that connect to more than one of the three areas.

The fund will support programs and projects that make an immediate positive impact and/or have the potential to advance the missions of global studies, service, and sustainability back at Deerfield.  Upon return to campus in the fall, grant recipients will share their experiences and propose ways that Deerfield can benefit from their summer work.

Proposals should be a statement of 250 words or less that describes the program or project and must include a proposed budget. If your proposal is accepted you will be expected to meet with a member of our team during the spring term to further prepare your plan, and you will be responsible for reporting out next year.

We will be answering questions and sharing some ideas at a table outside walkthrough lunch on Wednesday, February 26.  We will also be available to answer questions over ice-cream and cookies in the Parker room on Wednesday, March 26 at 6:30pm.

Proposals are due online by March 28, 2014.

Please save your proposal in a different document before hitting submit. If you do not receive an email confirmation, we have not received your application.
