Reporting to the Director of Global Studies, the Global Studies Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and secretarial support to the Global Studies Office, an organization that values personal responsibility, high standards, initiative, flexibility, and a collaborative approach to our daily work.
The primary duties and responsibilities of this part-time position include: to serve as point person ensuring a smooth-running, office, including maintaining the Director’s appointment calendar and providing administrative support such as keeping minutes, managing logistics, generating correspondence and postings, supporting the Director and program leaders with trip planning and logistics including keeping accurate enrollment, billing and financial aid records and organizing and promoting internal and external grant opportunities. This position will coordinate all enrollment, medical, emergency and liability forms for faculty led abroad programs and liaise with The Finance Office regarding international travel insurance and risk management compliance. The Administrative Assistant will work closely with the Director to manage risk the assessment process and coordinate documentation of risk management policies and procedures; provide administrative support to off-campus travel risk management committee; coordinate visits for international visitors and other guests and manage and develop Global Studies website and other communications projects;
The Global Studies Administrative Assistant will provide support to the Sustainability Office and Community Service Office as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will preferably possess a Bachelor’s Degree, excellent interpersonal, organizational, and technological skills, and exceptional attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, the ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to work as part of a team.
