Job Opening: Events Manager

Reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving, the Events Manager will design, plan and execute engaging events for alumni, parents and friends on behalf of the Office of Alumni and Development.

Primary responsibilities include conceptualizing and executing approximately forty events annually, ranging in size from 25 to 800 attendees; focus is on premier annual events: Reunions, General Receptions, and the donor recognition event known as “1797”, working to ensure thoughtful planning and smooth execution of each; effectively organize and execute campus ceremonies and events: work with Alumni and Development team, Communications Office, Head of School’s Office, Dining Services and Physical Plant staff to deliver quality programming to constituents; responsible for cultivation of and subsequent management of all vendor relationships; support the work of the Deerfield Clubs (currently six domestic and three international), young alumni outreach in Annual Giving and major prospect managers with tactical advice and/or material assistance.

Qualifications should include a Bachelors degree, previous experience in alumni relations or hospitality events management, excellent interpersonal, organizational and follow-up skills, strong initiative and attention to detail, strong oral and written communication skills, proficiency with MS Office Suite and familiarity with integrated databases and reporting software, willingness to work flexible hours and the ability to travel up to 10% annually.
