Celebrate Black History Month … at the library

African American History Month

To raise awareness of the many contributions of African Americans to history, scholar Carter Godwin Woodson launched Negro History Week during the second week of February in 1926. (This event became an annual celebration and was expanded to the entire month of February in 1950.)

Our February Library Question of the Month is:

What is the significance of the second week of February?

Be sure to drop off your answer in the Question of the Month Box located at the entrance of our library.

Good luck! From all the correct answers, a winner will be drawn and a prize will be awarded on February 28, 2013.
