Handel’s “Messiah”

The Deerfield Choral Society, the Deerfield Orchestra, and guest musicians will perform Part One of Handel’s “Messiah” at 7:30 pm this Friday, December 14, at the First Church of Deerfield. Widely considered one of the greatest masterworks of the choral-orchestral repertory and a staple of the holiday season, Handel’s masterful oratorio presents the biblical story of the coming of Christ through music of incredible beauty and drama. The performance will feature a mix of student and professional soloists, and will conclude with the famous “Hallelujah Chorus.” Admission is free and open to the public.
