On April 11-13th, Deerfield will be hosting the heads of school and two trustees from each of the schools in the Eight Schools Association–Andover, Choate, Exeter, Hotchkiss, Lawrenceville, Northfield Mount Hermon, and St. Paul’s–for our annual spring meeting. The theme for this year is “Private Schools and Public Education Reform,” and our featured speakers include Steve Brill, ’68, accomplished journalist and author of Class Warfare: Inside the Fight to Save America’s Schools (2011); Timothy Knowles, John Dewey Director, University of Chicago Urban Education Institute; Norman Atkins, Founder of Uncommon Schools and Co-Founder and President, Relay Graduate School of Education; and Mayme Hostetter, Former Deerfield teacher and Dean, Relay Graduate School of Education. All community members are encouraged to attend Mr. Brill’s lecture on Thursday, April 12 at 6pm in the Garonzik Auditorium.
