A Letter to Einstein

Dear Professor Einstein, For some time during free periods at school, I have been struggling, I am afraid rather unsuccessfully, with Eddington’s “Space, Time and Gravitation,” and the rather fantastic idea occurred to me – here comes the presumptuous part – whether it would not be reasonable to assume that the number and curvature of dimensions of the universe be considered, if not variable, at least “relative”. So begins the correspondence between a DA student (whose courage is immortalized in a bestselling memoir and a 1975 Emmy nominated movie) and Albert Einstein. This month’s Library Question of the Month is: Who is this student? Be sure to drop off your answer in the Question of the Month Box located at the entrance of our library. Good luck! From all the correct answers, a winner will be drawn and a prize will be awarded on March 1, 2011. Many thanks to DA Archivist Anne Lozier who recommended this month’s question.
