Merry Christmas for the Children of Franklin County

The Giving Tree will be back this year, and even though this is short notice, we hope that the whole community will get involved. For those of you who have no idea what we are referring to, the Giving Tree is a cut-out of a Christmas tree with labels bearing the age and gender of children in Franklin County (ex. girl, age 7), and Deerfield students and faculty have the opportunity to pluck off one of these labels and buy a suitable gift for a 7-year-old girl, for example. There is a $10 limit, and we encourage you to get something you would want for yourself if you were this child. This is really a wonderful opportunity to spread holiday cheer to a child less fortunate than ourselves. They will be really happy, so if you plan to participate, we suggest that you buy a gift before returning to campus (age range between 4 and 12). Don’t worry, you can get more than one as there are so many children we can make merry this holiday season. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Dr. Baker at bbaker@deerfield.edu or Latoya at lstewart@deerfield.edu.
