Today we’re launching a “public beta test” of a new DANET. Over the next week or so, we’ll gather feedback and comments from all of you, make adjustments, and then finally turn off the old DANET site. During this testing period, if you find errors or omissions–or want to make a suggestion–please complete this form.
You’re currently viewing an article, but you can find the new DANET homepage here.
Our primary goal with the new site is reduce the number of places people need to look for information. To that end, all the old DANET resources, downloadable files, and DAORGs sites have been collapsed into just two websites:
1) DANET includes information which is shared across our entire community: students, faculty, staff, and parents. Alumni and prospective students often visit DANET as well.
- Only DA students, faculty, and staff can post new items to DANET.
- Only DA students, faculty, and staff can comment on DANET.
2) The Bulletin is a website just for employees of Deerfield. You can find a link to the Bulletin in the upper right hand corner of DANET.
- Only DA employees (faculty and staff) can access the Bulletin.
- Only DA employees can post new items or comment on posts.
There are some new features of DANET that deserve mention:
- Pages, Posts, Categories, Tags, RSS Feeds, and Search. The new site offers multiple ways to access content and find what you’re looking for. New information will be highlighted on the home page. Related information will be categorized and tagged, and a search function covers everything on DANET.
- Ability for Anyone to Post. Any student, faculty, or staff member may post an item to DANET; even lost and found items may be posted this way.
- Mobile Viewing. DANET now features a mobile version. Just point your mobile device at the site and it will automatically provide the correct version.
